With the OZEV home charge grant coming to an end, now is the right time to book your installation and save even more with Mer.
Last year the government announced that the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS) from OZEV (Office for Zero Emissions Vehicles) would be changing in April 2022. The changes mean that from 31st March, homeowners will no longer be able to receive a £350 discount on their home electric car charger installation.
The scheme has helped thousands of electric vehicle drivers since it was first introduced and if you act now, it could save you a large sum of money too on your home charging point installation.
The grant is available for drivers who meet the following criteria:
✓ have off-street parking
✓ own a battery electric vehicle (BEV) or plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV)
✓ not be exceeding the limit of two OZEV funded electric charge chargers
In order to receive the funding, your installation must take place before the grant end date (31st March).
As demand for home charge point installations increases, it’s recommended that you book yours as soon as possible. When you order your home charging point installation with us before the 28th of February 2022, we will support you in your application for funding. This is the final date we will take OZEV applications to ensure your home charge point can be installed at the earliest possible date.
There are various factors to take into consideration that could cause a possible delay to your installation date, such as planning permission or needing an isolation switch on your meter. If you’re unsure about the requirements for your installation, our EV home charge expert can help guide you through.
Once you order your home EV charger, we’ll ask you to send us some photos and will assess whether we think you will be entitled to the EVHS grant and arrange your installation date.
