Our story
Together in electric dreams
Anthony Piggott and Dan Martin met at a bus stop in September 1998 at the tender age of 17. Setting off for their first day on an electrical apprenticeship, they quickly became best friends and the rest is our history.
After working together for several years in electrical contracting, the friends identified an opportunity in the EV charging market. In 2013, armed with £1000, a laptop, a van and a dream, Anthony and Dan set up their first EV charging company which would evolve to become the Elmtronics we know and love today.
Securing some of the UK’s highest FTSE 250 partnerships, Elmtronics is now one of the UK’s leading independent EV charging specialists. With a vast portfolio of customers and a drive to generate excitement around the EV industry, we feel privileged to be contributing towards a cleaner future.
Practicing what we preach
A positive approach to net-zero
It would be pretty hard to sell our commitment to net zero if we didn’t believe in the importance of reducing our own carbon footprint. We pledge to become carbon negative by March 2023. Our sustainability team, with help from Carbon Neutral Britain, is committed to finding ways to lower our carbon footprint across the business.
Utilities and usage
We use green renewable energy but that’s just the start. We’re continuously auditing our usage and identifying areas where we can improve.
Supply chain
We’re reviewing our supply chain and that includes everything from where we buy our daily caffeine hit to our larger commercial suppliers.
Outside the office
We’re having conversations and offering guidance to our colleagues about how we can reduce our everyday carbon footprint as individuals. Little things we do in the office and at home mean something is better than nothing. You have to start somewhere. We don’t all profess to be eco warriors but we are becoming more eco conscious.
